Christe obtained approval for the University of Portland's long term master plan allowing a historic expansion of the campus in North Portland, obtained approvals for OHSU to entitle and expand its Marquam Hill and South Waterfront Campuses, obtained permits for the new Nyberg Rivers center in Tualatin and successfully defended those entitlements on appeal, obtained contested approvals for a 2.5 acre mixed-use project in Lake Oswego and defended those appeals through Supreme Court review, and successfully represented multiple Pearl District property owners against a relocation of a tent camp within the Pearl District.
Christe assisted a local development team in the entitlement and construction of a downtown hotel project and has shepherded several projects through the approval process including a new shopping center, multi-lot land division and destination resort facilities.
Christe's project experience has included condominium towers, office buildings, hotels, mixed-use developments, institutional expansion, public infrastructure and resorts. Her work on complex, high-profile projects have had a lasting impact on the future of the region.
Christe is frequently asked to speak to client groups, other lawyers and consultants on a wide array of topics, including successful permitting strategies, density transfers, constitutional limitations on exactions and updates on legal developments in land use. She was appointed by Governor Kitzhaber to serve on the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) Task force charged with re-writing the rules for UGB amendments and serves on the Board of LOCUS, a local chapter of Smart Growth America.
From 1995 to 2008, Christe practiced land use and real estate law at Ball Janik LLP, becoming a partner and chair of that firm's Land Use Practice Group.
